Electric Heat Rate A very attractive rate is available to households utilizing electric heat. Rate: Winter October 1 - June 1 Summer June 1 - October 1 Facilities Charge: $23 $23 Energy Charge: First 1200 KWH @ 9.183 cents Next 3800 KWH @ 5.2 cents Over 5000 KWH @ 7.02 cents First 2000 KWH @ 9.183 cents Over 2000 KWH @ 7.02 cents The energy charges in the above rates are based on a wholesale purchased power cost of 70 mills per KWH. The energy charges may be increased by the same amount, plus applicable line loss, by which the Co-Operative’s variable cost of energy exceeds 70 mills per kilowatt hour. Electric Heat Rebate In addition to the above listed rates, MCEC offers a $350 rebate to households for new electric heat installation. Benefits of Electric Heating System Geothermal Heating and Cooling Rebate MCEC will rebate $125 per ton of installed capacity to members with geothermal heating and cooling systems. Benefits of Geothermal Systems Heat Pump Rebate Members utilizing an electric furnace/air-to-air heat pump, or other electric heating systems(minimum 5 kw) will receive a rebate of $30 per kw of installed capacity from MCEC.
